Dr. Stone serves as Medical Director for the hyperbaric medicine unit at the Institute for Exercise & Environmental Medicine. He received his medical degree from the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and received a master of public health degree from Harvard University. He completed a residency in aerospace medicine at Brooks Air Force Base and a fellowship in hyperbaric medicine at the U.S. Air Force School of Aerospace Medicine.
Board certified in hyperbaric medicine, aerospace medicine and wound management, Dr. Stone serves as a hyperbaric consultant to the Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Dallas, Texas; Poison Control Center of North Dallas; Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General: Office of Evaluation and Inspections, and to many health insurance companies. He is past president of the Texas Affiliate of the American Diabetes Association. He is a past recipient of the "Outstanding Physician for Community Service Award presented by "Presbyterian HealthCare Systems, and received the "Jefferson Davis Memorial Award" for Clinical excellence in Hyperbaric Medicine presented by the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society Gulf Coast Chapter. He also serves as Senior Medical Examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. Dr. Stone is also available for medical reviews.
