Peripheral Neuropathy
Diagnosis and Treatment
Peripheral neuropathy is a contributing factor in diabetic foot ulcers, because patients with neuropathy may be unable to feel an irritation or sore on their foot. Patients with diabetes should practice proper diabetes management, and inspect and care for their feet daily, to minimize their risk of developing foot ulcers. Patients with peripheral neuropathy need to be especially vigilant in caring for their diabetes, by adhering to their diet and tending to their feet on a daily basis.
